Long Time No Post

Wow, I really need to work on updating regularly. My last post was, what, March 7th? So... I've gotten my computer back with everything except my Favorites still intact. I was kind of upset about that, but I needed to clean up the list anyway.

The Hoodwinked 2 people made another update a few weeks ago by putting up recipes on both their Facebook and official site. And by "recipes", I mean "recipes that are probably no different from any others and that have nothing to do with the movie".

I mean, I can see why they'd put up recipes, with the Sisters of the Hood being that cooking group or whatever, but it's kind of weird to see a company promoting with recipes that don't have anything the film they go with besides decorating it with characters and backgrounds from it. (I'd like to rewrite that sentence, but I don't know how to word it differently. :/)

Anyhow, at least we got to see a new picture of Kirk/the Woodsman that isn't a Woodsman Because He's a Yodeler.

I'm thinking about writing some reviews sometime, but I'm not sure about what at the moment. Right now, the top choices are Chrono Trigger DS, the new VeggieTales 'Twas the Night Before Easter, or some other movie/game that I want to put down my opinions about.

Originally, I was going to end this post with a video of a song that talked about things not being related to a movie. But there are no videos of it up on YouTube, so instead, here's another video of a song that's from the same series. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with this blog post (except for the fact that it has nothing to do with it), so I think it's a good replacement. Enjoy!

Computer Problems

I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is, I've found two new posters for Hoodwinked 2!

Well, technically, I found them yesterday, but I didn't get the chance to post them. Which brings me to the bad news. My computer has been having a problem with the blue screen of death for a while now. Basically, every time we restart the computer, it comes up, unless we're really lucky and it allows us to bypass. Well, yesterday we had to turn off the computer because we thought the power was gonna go out. And when we turned it on again, guess what came up?


I'll give you one guess.

  I was fed up with this, so my dad and I called the computer repair guy we go to. We described the situation to him and he thinks that the hard drive is corrupt. We're taking the computer over to his place tomorrow to get it fixed.

Basically, I won't be able to go on much until we get it back. We do have another computer and laptop, but the computer is my dad's and the mouse pad on the laptop always makes the page scroll instead of moving the mouse. So, I'll see about updating you guys once I get it back.

Hoodwinked 2 Site Updated

Yes, that's right; the teaser site has just received a MAJOR content update. There are four more areas on the site: About the Film, Video (which is just the trailer at the moment), Gallery, and Downloads. Each part is based off a different character and shows clips of them before giving you the page. The only exception to this is Twicthy, but he pops up all over the website and says some of his lines from the movie. It gets annoying after a while, though, and I ended up using the mute button at the top right hand corner.

My favorite new addition are the clips.  They're really short, but they look awesome, especially the Red action ones. Not only that, but now we have actually been supplied with Gretel's voice! She sounds simular to Hansel, which kind of makes sense, since they're siblings and all.

One thing I find weird, though, is that on one of the labels at the top of the page uses a picture of Red from the first film and not the second.

You'd think they'd have enough pictures of Red to use from the movie they're advertising. Especially considering there's one on the page the button links to.

 There's some other stuff too, but you can find those out for yourself. As for me, I'm gonna watch those mini clips over and over to absorb how awesome this movie is gonna be.

Did I Call it or What?



Yep, they released a poster for Wolf! It's kinda strange that they didn't do this one like they did the last two, but I'm not complaining. I personally think it looks better. And, hey, Twitchy's on it too!

Plus, I found the plot outline on the movie's Facebook page. While it's simular to the one on the official site, this is a bit longer and contains more detail. Take a look:

Well, I was just surfing the web for random images from Hoodwinked 2 and I came across these. I'm not really into the design and all, but at least this is one more assurance that this new release date is real. Personally, I like Red's the best because it looks better and the pun on Granny's is just... ugh. If anymore are put online (I expect there to be one for Wolf somewhat soon), I'll make sure to put them up here.

Hoodwinked 2 Finally Given a Release Date

So, it's been over a year since the delay of Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs Evil. Almost exactly a year after the toys came out in Burger King. A bit over half a year since I took down my profile theme for it on Toontask. It's even been months past September 5th, the date it was rumored to come out. Since then, no information had been revealed, and fans were left to ponder if they would ever get their sequel.

But then news broke. Really big news.

On February 10th, the Weinstein Company surprised everybody by putting up an official release date and a TRAILER. This is a big deal, since they had previously not made one (or even plan to make one) before it was supposed to come out originally.When I heard the news from Cory Edwards' twitter (follow him here or read his blog), my inner fangirl awakened once again. I was bouncing off the walls the rest of the night.

There's one problem, though.

Below are trailers for both the original and the sequel. Watch and compare.

Okay, so there are some obvious differences, right? The animation, character designs, voice actors, the tone, among other things. While some of these are for the better (Red's new design is definitely an improvement), it's the tone that's the problem for me. From what the trailer shows, it makes it seem like Hoodwinked 2 is just like any other movie coming out these days, full of crude and adult-like humor. Sure, it's not that bad (some things, like the fart sound in Granny's scene and the comment about Twitchy not wearing pants, are actually not in the movie), but when you compare it to the original with its clean humor, it's a bit strange to see.

That, and the new effect on Twitchy's voice.

Course, just because the trailer's bad doesn't mean the movie is. Examples of this, for me at least, are Monsters vs Aliens, Despicable Me, and (possibly) Gnomeo and Juliet, although I'm still yet to see the latter. As it's said in the very beginning of Hoodwinked, "You know what they say, you can't judge a book by its cover. If you want to know the truth, you've got to flip through the pages."

So whether the Weinstein Company releases better trailers or whatnot for it, I'll still be at the movie theater the opening weekend of April 29th. Hopefully it'll be worth the wait.

And, oh yeah, it's in 3D, too.

Well...

Finally got around to updating this again. Not much is going on in my life right now. Recently I've been rereading some stories I worked on in the past and wanting to write more of them. Those stories would be Apocalypse and The Visitors 2: Return to Mobius.

It's been a while since I wrote either of them. I've had a problem on Apocalypse, my Astro Boy (1980)/Toontown crossover, with a certain character's personality, and I stopped writing. It was kinda a big problem because it was a total shift from his personality before. And then there's Atlas. It seems I have a hard time writing for villains I didn't make. :/

I wrote The Visitors 2 some time ago with my cousins Shad and Star Dust. It was the sequel to a previous story that had been written by just me and Shad. The basis of the first story was that two penpals, Mitch and Diane, somehow ended up in Sonic's world, Mobius, and they had to find a way back.

The sequel was a lot more interesting. You see, whenever they go into Mobius, they appear as either an official character or a fan made character. An example of this would be that, in the first story, Diane became my fan character Freeze the fox, and Mitch became Shadow the hedgehog. So nobody really knew they weren't from Mobius. Well, in the sequel, or a little bit before it actually, somebody does find out. It's made even more interesting with the inclusion of Star Dust's character, Sarah. Not gonna spoil anything, but she's very interesting.

We stopped writing TV2 a while ago because we were stuck on it. Right now Shad and I are working on a Toontown story about our black cats called Shadows in the Moonlight. I really need to send her a part; I think I'll do it right after I post this.

I do have The Visitors posted on TTK, but I might think about putting it up here. And maybe a chapter or two of the sequel. It was really good. :)
